Intermittent Fasting

You have probably been doing this without knowing it your whole life. By skipping breakfast and lunch and just eating late in the day, or by being sick and missing multiple meals you have been intermittenly fasting.

Intermittent Fasting is an eating pattern that cycles between periods of fasting and eating. What you eat is not as specifically defined as when you eat and how long between fasting.

There are different ways that you can put this together and each way can help encourage weight loss. Research indicates that this type of dieting is difficult for most people because of the discipline involved. It can be an effective way to lose weight over a period of time due to loss of calories.

When you don’t eat for a period of time, your body naturally diuresis and gets rid of any bloat that food in the GI tract would cause. It gives you more of a slimmed down feeling. And, you will lose weight from the burning of fat while you haven’t eaten, and the loss of calories.

It’s a unique way to look at burning some calories but there are questions that people may have. Questions like how many hours should I go without eating? Then, how many days do I eat like this? What should I eat when I come out of a fast?

Who doesn’t want to intermittenly fast? The question is do you have the will power to do it? Perhaps a supplement can help to curb your appetite if you can’t go without eating.

Or instead of an actual fast where you just drink water and don’t eat, try doing a liquid fast. Instead of withdrawal of food, drink a protein shake as two meals. At least you get some sense of fullness and excitement with chocolate and sweetened flavors. But the fact that you are fasting before and after the drink and consuming much less calories than you would if you ate, may be a fair trade off.

After this type of dieting over time, your stomach probably would have shrunk a bit and you won’t eat as much going forward.
